George Maruta
President/CEO

George Maruta is the President and CEO of Toppan Printing Company America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Toppan Printing Company Ltd., Japan. In April of 2006, he was transferred to the United States to serve in his current position.

He graduated from Seikei University, where he majored in engineering and business administration. Mr. Maruta joined Toppan Japan in 1976, starting in the Interior Décor Division.  Within the first 9 years, he started the overseas business for the Interior Décor Division. In 1985, Mr. Maruta moved to the Packaging Division. There he built the foundation of Toppan's packaging business overseas. With this success, he took control of the Japanese Domestic Sales, specifically within the Packaging Division. In 2002, he returned to the International Department for Packaging and was responsible for three overseas operations in China, Thailand and Indonesia. Additionally, he was responsible for overseas sales of packaging materials. Mr. Maruta's successful career in sales within Toppan has enabled him to develop wide ranging expertise. He has built upon his experience with each level in his professional career. He is proud and excited to bring that experience to Toppan Printing Company America, Inc.
John Lee
Executive Vice President, Sales

John Lee has been with Toppan for almost 35 years. He joined the company in 1972, after graduating from University in Hong Kong. There he majored in Mass Communications. At the Toppan Tokyo headquarters, John learned the printing business from the ground up.

In 1975, he was transferred to Toppan America in New York and charged with developing sales and marketing activities, especially for the pre-press plant. The plant was located in Mountainside, N.J.. John's ventures were successful and, in 1988, he started to develop the commercial printing business. He was instrumental in the eventual consolidation of both the pre-press and the commercial business in the Somerset, NJ facility.

Always looking for new challenges, in 1993, John started overseeing and expanding the overseas printing business, particularly in the high end trade book printing. Currently, as Executive Vice President, John continues to meet those new challenges as he grows Toppan America's business into the future.
Ken Sakane
Vice President, Operation

Ken Sakane is Vice President at Toppan Printing America. In this position, Ken oversees operation strategy. With the combination of Toppan Japan (World No.1 printer in sales as of 2006) production methods and Toppan America's capabilities, his role is to create first-class quality, and effective and efficient production.  Also, with the support of Toppan R&D, Ken is responsible for installing cutting edge technologies which will meet US market demand.

Ken earned a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Waseda University in March of 1995.  After graduation, he joined Toppan Japan where he was assigned to the Manufacturing Technology Section within the Commercial Printing Division at the Asaka Plant. 

Over the past 11 years Ken has served in roles of increasing responsibility for Toppan Japan including Assistant Manager and Production Control Manager of the Asaka plant.During his employment with Toppan Japan, he evaluated and installed several major workflow processes that are integral to production today including; Desktop Publishing, Computer To Plate, and
On Demand Print Technology. As a result of his diligent work, he and his team obtained seven patents related to print system methods.

Ken joined Toppan American in June of 2006 to run operations at the Somerset Plant.
Ron Ens
Director, Business Development

Ron is the Director of Business Development for Toppan Printing Company America.  In this position, Ron is primarily responsible for ensuring that existing customers continue to receive the high quality of service for which Toppan is known.  Additionally, this position is responsible for the identification, pursuit and generation of new business opportunities within Toppan's targeted marketplace.

Ron joined the Toppan team in 2006, bringing with him over twenty years of product marketing and business development leadership experience.  Prior to Toppan, Ron worked at several blue chip companies in the publishing and printing industries.  Ron holds a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, NJ and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Boston University, Boston, MA. 

Over the past few years, Ron has been an active advocate for the utilization of digital print and communications technology and has spoken at a number of industry events.
Mildred Poli, SPHR
Senior Manager, Human Resources

Mildred Poli is Senior Manager of Human Resources at Toppan Printing Company America. Ms. Poli is responsible for all Human Resource activities of the company as well as management of IT and Building and Facilities Maintenance.  With her leadership and commitment to customer service, Ms. Poli serves as strategic business partner to ensure productivity, efficiency, and success of the organization.

Ms. Poli joined the Toppan team in June of 2006, bringing with her twenty years of leadership and management experience. She holds a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management from Holy Family University, Philadelphia, PA, and a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Biology from Arcadia University, Glenside, PA. Ms. Poli is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resource Management (SPHR) by the Human Resource Certification Institute.

Ms. Poli is a member of several Human Resources-related professional associations including the Society for Human Resource Management, the American Society for Training and Development, and the Employers Association of New Jersey.
David Hathaway
Secretary-Controller

David Hathaway serves in the role of Controller at Toppan Printing Company, America.  As Controller, David is responsible for all accounting, budgeting and financial reporting procedures including their conformance with accepted accounting practices, tax, legal, and auditing requirements.

David has almost 25 years experience in all facets of accounting, leadership and management.  Previously, Mr. Hathaway served as Associate Vice-President and Corporate Controller at Edwards and Kelcey, Inc. where he led all areas of accounting with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, resultant systems integration, and accounts receivable.  Other experience includes serving as Controller for Fortune 500 companies such as GAF and Georgia-Pacific Corporation.

David is a certified public accountant belonging to the American Institute of CPA's, the New Jersey Society of CPA's, and the Georgia Society of CPA's. He holds a Bachelor's of Business Administration from Augusta State University, Augusta, GA.
