Japan Earthquake: Message from the Head of the International Division
First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the sympathetic concerns from all of our customers and related corporations. Your thoughtful messages are truly encouraging.
TOPPAN’s manufacturing facilities in the most severely affected Tohoku area are significantly damaged, suffering from electric power loss and other failures. We have immediately established an emergency task force to take every possible measure to minimize the loss with back up from other manufacturing facilities which are unharmed.
Due to the failure of the power plant in the Tohoku area, we are experiencing some shortage of power supply in eastern Japan. Also logistics in Japanare still disrupted. Under these difficult circumstances, TOPPAN is making every effort not to cause major inconvenience to customers by concentrating all the manufacturing capacity of the TOPPAN Group in Japan and overseas.
Frequent aftershocks are continuing and major quakes (RMS 7.0+) are still anticipated. We are all on full alert.
Your understanding and support is greatly appreciated.
