Toppan Printing to exhibit at the 2012 International Security Printers Conference & Exhibition

Toppan's newest OVD images

Toppan Printing Co., Ltd. (hereafter Toppan Printing; head office: Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo; President & Representative Director: Shingo Kaneko) is proud to be exhibiting at the 25th International Security Printers Conference & Exhibition, organised by Intergraf, from 17th to 19th October in Bordeaux.

Security printing experts from Toppan have been attending and indeed speaking at this conference for over 10 years, but this year will mark the first occasion for Toppan to have a booth at the exhibition.

The focus for Toppan’s booth will be on two new Optically Variable Devices (OVDs); Jeweltone and Asterium. These OVDs, unique in the marketplace, have been developed through expertise in nano level structures and optical technology. As a matter of course, these features offer the level of security required for banknotes, but what sets them aside from others is their flexibility in design. No longer does an OVD need to be a silver colored hologram. With many central banks now looking into polymer as a more durable alternative to paper, it is worth noting also that these features are particularly suited to the window feature on a polymer note, not least because the features and effects can be viewed from both sides.

Passport security is another major topic at the Intergraf conference and Toppan will be exhibiting holographic laminates, visa stickers (complete with OVD patches) and eCovers. Toppan will be actively looking for new opportunities to supply passport components for which we already have references in 14 countries.

Toppan’s expertise in optical technology is also being put to good use in tax stamp solutions and samples of the Company’s latest security devices for use on tax stamps will be on display in the booth.

Toppan’s strapline for this exhibition is “Pieces of art. Peace of mind.” because we believe that we really have been able to combine beauty with security.
