Toppan believes that a self-starting mindset is the key to successfully coexisting with society and the environment. In 2000, the Toppan Group drew up Toppan Vision 21, which outlines an ideal corporate profile for the 21st century. Guided by that vision, we continue to cultivate our relationships with customers and the community based on sound corporate ethics that ensure our business activities are safe and environmentally friendly. We are aware of our social obligations as a leading company in the information and communications industry, and Toppan continues to take wide ranging steps to meet those obligations.
Toppan International CSR Policy

ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVITIES
Protection of the environment is a major social responsibility of every corporation and has also become an important management issue. Recognizing this fact, Toppan established the Ecology Center in 1991 - the first company in the printing industry to do so. In the following year, we formulated Toppan's Declaration on the Global Environment, which encapsulates our environmental philosophy. Our Environmental Report, published annually since 1998, provides environmental accounting details. It also clarifies environmental objectives, such as achievement of zero emissions at our 15 domestic plants by the end of March 2003.
Corporate Citizenship

SOCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS
Activities for social and cultural contributions are very important efforts for realizing our corporate philosophy "Contribute to a fulfilling lifestyle as a mainstay of information and culture." Two cultural facilities, the Printing Museum, Tokyo, and Toppan Hall in Toppan Koishikawa Bldg., act as the center of Toppan's various social and cultural activities. We also open the company's facilities to effect a symbiosis with the community. These approaches have received significant recognition.

Browse through the information below and you will see some of the programs we have in place to provide a fulfilling lifestyle to our community, business and the world.

To those ends, the hall has hosted roughly 40 concerts a year while holding free concerts for local residents and lunchtime concerts designed to foster the talents of promising young musicians. Toppan Hall has already earned an impressive reputation at home and abroad as a venue with superb acoustics that showcases the many charms of chamber music through virtuoso performances by a broad spectrum of international musicians. PRINTING MUSEUM, TOKYO

In October 2000, Toppan opened the Printing Museum in Tokyo to heighten public awareness of the pivotal role of printing in civilization's evolution. In addition to permanent exhibitions, the museum holds several temporary exhibitions a year. It includes a printing studio, a VR theater, a library, and a shop. The museum's library has books and journals on printing and related fields, a catalog that enables users to search the collection, and a reading room. More than 150 groups and organizations, including local elementary and junior high schools and companies, have visited the Printing Museum to take part in study tours and other events. Total visitors topped 100,000 in September 2003, approximately three years after opening the museum. Read More>>
